7 WAYS TO BE A MORE PUT TOGETHER PERSON

2020 has been the year of redesigning your life and rediscovering who you are, I could be wrong, but I definitely feel that we have been given the opportunity to grow into the person we aspire to be. I think it is all about perspective and looking at the positives. Now if you feel that you want to sit and binge watch Netflix shows, that's okay, you may need rest after the year we've had. If you want to change into the best version of yourself, that's okay too. There's no right way of doing quarantine, whatever suits you. Just be sure to keep a healthy mindset so that you don't fall into a depressive state. I find that keeping busy helps me with that.

So first things first, planning is essential to being a more put together person. Have a plan for your week and each day. I live by my to-do lists in my diary. It is such a simple task, just writing down a to-do list before going to bed, and then actually being able to tick off boxes on your to-do list is so inspiring and uplifting, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. Check your tasks at the beginning of the week so that you can plan your days accordingly to be the most productive version of yourself.

Second is to get into a routine. Getting into a routine during quarantine is really important to keep yourself active and busy. It will also be easier to go back to normal life after quarantine. Create a routine for things you do often, so as I said in my previous blog, mine would be the 5am club routine where you do 20 minutes of body, 20 minutes of mind and 20 minutes of growth. Also planning a morning and evening skin routine can help you keep disciplined. Creating routines help you to not waste time and allows you to be more productive in your unused time. One of the worst things for me is sitting and feeling like I've got nothing to do, so I constantly have a to-do list.

Having a signature style. Finding a signature style will help you look a lot more put together because people will be able to recognize you by it. Having a signature style will also help you save money, you won't spend money on buying clothes you won't end up wearing. In order to help you find a style create vision boards, if you aren't creative then get Pinterest and decide on the kind of look you want (I will post some mood boards on my Pinterest of my style I'm going for). Having a signature style will also save you a lot of time when getting ready in the morning. So many benefits.

Keeping in contact. This may not be an obvious one, but I definitely get an amazing feeling when someone remembers something important or even small that is happening with me, who checks up to see how my interview was or my doctors appointment, or even a meeting, they seem like they've got it all together. Don't let emails and messages linger, rather respond ASAP. I am not going to lie, I know way too many people who take days to reply and it is the biggest put-off. I 100% understand that we sometimes get a little busy, but don't make a habit of it. It shows that you don't care or are very uninterested which is not a good look. Rather make it clear that you won't be responding and speaking to the person anymore. When you make connections reach out to people every so often, just to let them know you haven't forgotten about them and to just check up on them. This shows a genuine interest and makes people want to work with you, which is key in networking.

Nails and accessories. I find that when I keep my nails neat and clean, I can literally take on the world. I won't feel self-conscious showing products or explaining things to someone (since I use my hands a lot when I speak). Having your nails done, a co-coordinating purse or simple jewelry makes your whole outfit feel more put together. So find reliable accessories that would be your go to and work them!

Having a neat home, or room. I am still in the process of learning how to keep my room up to a clean standard, I am guilty. Quarantine just makes it so easy to not make my bed... I mean, I'm going to sleep in it in a few hours anyway right? Well this is a habit that keeps you looking like you've got your life in order... Remember your home and room is a reflection of you.

Believe it! Don't think of yourself as a hot mess, rather think of yourself as a work-in-progress. Fake it if you have to, until you eventually get it right. If you don't have it all together, pretend like you do. It will eventually become a habit and a truthful part of your life. I think it is also important to make sure that you are doing this for yourself, to build your confidence and self-worth, don't do it for the approval of other's. Seek to continuously be a better version of the person you were the day before. Your only competition should be the old you.

I hope that these points will help you. Please let me know on Instagram what your thoughts and opinions are, if you have something that works for you I would love to know.
