WHO AM I THOUGH? (IDENTITY IN CHRIST . PART 1)

First things first, one must know and understand her identity in Christ. Basics. I will be posting a YouTube video with my best friend Kayla, who has decided to team up and spread the word of God with me. She is someone I am so inspired by and a person who is constantly teaching me and guiding me. Shout out to you my girl.

Let's get started. When you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, you become new, you accept His beautiful gift of eternal life through faith. When we become followers of Christ, we no longer belong to ourselves, we don't shape our identity anymore, God does. Our identity is seen through Christ as we become members of His body which is the church. Here is what God says about you:

1. YOU ARE ADOPTED

Ephesians 1:5

He predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.

2. YOU ARE ACCEPTED

Romans 15:7

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

3. YOU ARE COMPLETE

Colossians 2:9-10

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

4. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE, YOU ARE ONE WITH GOD

1 Corinthians 6:17

But whoever is united with the Lord is one with the Spirit.

5. YOU ARE NO LONGER YOUR PAST MISTAKES

Romans 6:6

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by our sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

6. YOU WERE MADE IN GOD'S IMAGE AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFULLY MADE

Genesis 1:2

So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them, male and female He created them.

7. GOD KNOWS YOU BY NAME AND HE HAS SET YOU APART

Jeremiah 1:5

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

8. YOU ARE A PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST

1 Corinthians 12:27

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

9. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. God's special possessions, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

10. YOU ARE GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION AND HAVE BEEN CLOTHED IN CHRIST

Galatians 3:27-28

For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

11. YOUR BODY IS GOD'S TEMPLE

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

I recently watched a video that pointed something very uncomfortable and true out. This guy pointed out that whatever we do, whether it is drinking, smoking, doing drugs, sleeping around, and anything else you can think of, you make God do to, or you make Him go through it to.

12. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD AND HE HAS LAVISHED YOU WITH LOVE

1 John 3:1-2

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world did not know us in that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

13. YOU DIED, YOUR OLD LIFE IS GONE, YOUR NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN

Colossians 3:1-3

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not only on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
